Pediatric Physical Therapy

Pediatric physical therapy with me supports children as they grow, move, and build confidence in their bodies. I work with infants, young children, and teens, offering care that is thoughtful, individualized, and grounded in both pediatric and orthopaedic physical therapy principles.

My approach often blends traditional pediatric PT with Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) concepts and sports metrics–based training for injury prevention and recovery. Rather than applying a single framework, I integrate what’s most appropriate for each child to support strength, coordination, confidence, and ease with movement.

Parents typically reach out with concerns like:

  • Delayed gross motor milestones

  • Difficulty tolerating positions (tummy time, sitting, standing, transitions)

  • Gait abnormalities (intoeing, outtoeing)

  • Movement asymmetries or compensations

  • Low muscle tone or strength challenges

  • Balance or coordination difficulties

  • Pain or discomfort during activity

  • Scoliosis

  • GI-related discomfort impacting posture or movement

  • Challenges following illness, injury, or growth spurts

  • Recovery from fractures or sports-related injuries

  • Support with return to sport or activity

  • Injury prevention for young athletes

  • A child who seems unsure or lacks confidence with movement

If you’re unsure whether physical therapy is the right next step, I’m always happy to speak with you about your concerns.

My Approach & Process

In-home visits allow care to happen where children are most comfortable. By working in your home, sessions feel more relaxed, recommendations are easier to implement, and families avoid the added stress of travel with a baby or young child.

Each visit begins with a conversation about your concerns and goals. I’ll assess your child’s movement, provide hands-on and movement-based care as appropriate, and share education and strategies you can carry into daily life. The focus is always on supporting progress in a way that feels encouraging, sustainable, and confidence-building.

In some cases, PT intensives may be appropriate. These are offered on a case-by-case basis and by request, depending on the child’s needs and goals. Intensives allow for more focused support over a shorter period of time and can be discussed after an initial assessment.

Every child’s development looks different. Seeking support doesn’t mean something is wrong- it’s a way to better understand your child and give them the tools they need to thrive.
